no. 51 was not so pleasant
but also not nearly as bad as i thought. i kind of embarrassed myself with how deathly afraid i was of the thought of wisdom teeth extraction.
so i took the following steps to prepare for the proceedure:
1. washed all my favorite lounge clothes including my grey sweatpants and giant brown button sweater
2. made potato cheese soup with all the vegetables left in the fridge and pureed it to eliminate chewing
3. purchased $4.50 full fat ice cream with no guilt
4. borrowed 5 different kinds of tea from julia
5. basically talked nonstop to everyone i know about how scared i was for the week preceeding
but i went in at 8:30 and was out by 9:10. and pat has been bringing me as much potato soup and ice cream as i want. and i'm enjoying lame tv and pain meds.
and as only i could, when i woke up from the anesthetic the first thing i did was say "all of you nurses are so pretty". normal.

Wild Mushroom Risotto
I felt like a real cook. While Pat was in Arizona for an interview, I spent an evening cooking Wild Mushroom Risotto and listing to Frank Sinatra. It took longer than I thought, but the result was fantastic. My only complaint was that it was slightly salty. Next time I'll try a lower sodium chicken broth and season it myself.
I also had strep throat, so I was doubly impressed with myself. I then watched episodes of Felicity that Patti loaned me. Pretty awesome.
